Highlights of SBA Interim Final Rule (IFR) Guidance

  • President Trump signed into law the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act on June 5, 2020.
  • On June 10, the Small Business Administration (SBA) issued an Interim Final Rule (IFR) entitled “Revisions to First Interim Final Rule” to implement certain changes to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Flexibility Act previously stated or that were unclear.
  • Further guidance will be coming from the SBA and Treasury in the form of new loan forgiveness applications, new IFRs, and new FAQs.
  • It may be best to wait to submit your forgiveness application.
