BOOKKEEPER

OVERVIEW
Perform varying bookkeeping functions for a variety of external clients; utilize computerized accounting system and software; keep financial records. Primary responsibilities include accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and other finance-related duties. Be flexible to meet the needs of clients and firm. Seasonal overtime is required, particularly during year-end payroll reporting season (Mid-December through January).

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify and enters details of transactions
- Prepare financial statements accurately and timely
- Prepare Excel spreadsheets
- Prepare schedules and reports as requested
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Accounts payable and receivable as needed
- Meet one on one with clients to provide QuickBooks training
- Maintain records according to generally accepted accounting principles including recording of general journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and reconciliation of bank statements
- Apply strong accounting skills, including A/P, A/R, journal entries, and all bookkeeping through financial statement preparation
- Review client policies and procedures; identify and suggest improvements for accounting reporting and recording procedures
- Analyze data, summarize information, and assist in preparation of reports
- Manage client expectations and assisting clients with their bookkeeping and other related questions
- Attend Continuing Professional Education to develop your interpersonal skills and professional expertise

- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- AA degree or related experience
- QuickBooks or other computerized accounting system experience preferred (including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports)
- Willingness to become a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor
- Detail oriented
- Effective, timely, and professional communication skills
- Flexible team player who is also able to work independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Desire to continue to develop and enhance skills
- Exceptional time management skills with an ability to organize and prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
