Q. What do you like about the culture at CDS?
A: One of my favorite aspects of CDS is the collaborative culture. Everyone is on a first name basis and I’m able to work with everyone in the firm; from other staff accountants, senior accountants, to our managing partner. CDS has the small office feel, but the resources of a larger firm which gives it a unique work environment.
Q. Tell us about your family.
A: I grew up in Waseca, MN with my parents, my sister, Jewel, and my brother, Jameson. My mom is the office manager/bookkeeper for the non-profit, Farmamerica, near Waseca and my dad is a CPA and Partner for an accounting firm in Faribault, MN. My husband, Daniel, and I, have been married for almost four years and live in the Benson area. Daniel was born and raised in Benson which is how I made it out to this area.
Q: What is one thing people may not know about you?
A: I am a violinist! I’ve been playing for 18 years and became a member of the Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra when I moved to the area in 2016. I’ve been playing for so long now that I don’t really know a life without music or orchestra.
Q. What hobbies do you enjoy?
A: I really enjoying golfing with my husband. We’re both still beginners, but it’s such a fun time to go out to the course. I also love a good book when I can find the time to sit down and read.
Q. How did you get interested in accounting?
A: Accounting has always been in my life because of my dad, but I really got interested when I took my first accounting class as a junior in high school. It just clicked with me more than any other classes and I enjoyed it.
