Q: What inspired your career path?
A: A few things influenced my choice for a career in accounting. In high school, I really enjoyed my accounting and business classes. Additionally, I was inspired by my father who started his own business. He helped me understand more about business and how accounting plays a key role. Throughout college and early work opportunities, I had professors and mentors who encouraged my professional development and played an influential role in my decision to go into public accounting.
Q: Tell us about your family.
A: I grew up in Hancock, MN, which is right down the road from Morris. My Father, Ryan, owns RM Steel LLC, a grain systems construction company. My mother, Heidi, helps with the family business as the administrative assistant and bookkeeper, in addition to keeping the Messner house running. I have two brothers, Clint and Toby, who both work for the family business. I also have a little sister, Vivian, who is in high school and keeps busy with school extracurriculars, cleaning jobs, and helps around the house.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing piano, listening to a good podcast, and baking. In the summertime, I enjoy soaking up the sun, going on walks, and spending time near water.
