Interview with Administrative Assistant, Julie Hanson

Q: Tell us about your family.

A: My daughter and family live in Australia. As of May 2, 2024, I’m a proud grandmother and I’ve managed to visit my granddaughter twice during the past year.

Q: Do you have any hobbies?

A: I enjoy gardening, cooking and baking, preserving foods, outdoor sports, and making music, most recently on the hammered dulcimer.

Q: Tell us something most people don’t know about you.

A: This past October, I taught a class for Senior College at Alexandria Technical and Community College. The class title was “The Periodic Table—Iconic and Ingenious”.

Q: Can you share any interesting facts about yourself?

A: I grew up between Glenwood and Starbuck, Minnesota, but spent about 40 years living and working elsewhere — Ohio, New Mexico, Oregon, North Dakota, and Iowa — before returning to the Glenwood area two years ago.

Q: Why CDS?

A: Having retired recently from full-time employment, I was seeking a part-time or seasonal job. While job-hunting in December 2023, I spotted an opening for a CDS position in Morris, and I’m now in my second tax season with CDS. I consider myself very fortunate to work for a firm that conducts business in a professional manner and values its employees.
