Summary of Responsibilities
Prepare payrolls and related functions and other assignments under the supervision of the Payroll Manager and Director of Payroll Services.
Essential Functions
- Prepare client payrolls and related payroll reports and deposits accurately and in an efficient manner
- Prepare year-end payroll reports and W-2 forms
- Maintain and update client payroll records
- Keep informed of current payroll issues and changes
- Provide excellent client service
- Assist with developing and implementing new client services
- Develop client relationships
Other Functions
- Promote CDS payroll and additional services
- Actively involved in community, volunteer and/or industry organizations
- Assist with firm initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director or Payroll Services, Payroll Manager, Senior Payroll Specialist, and Partners
Working Conditions
- Seasonal overtime will be required, particularly during year-end payroll reporting season (Mid-December through January)
- Travel to client sites, meetings, and seminars will be necessary from time to time
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- Accounting degree or three or more years of payroll experience required
- Well-rounded knowledge of payroll preparation, reporting requirements and regulations, and payroll recordkeeping
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and staff
- Flexible, team player, ability to work both independently and with a team
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Must be confident and able to work with minimal supervision
